Monthly Tea Dance

Come and join us for an afternoon of tango from 2-5pm.
We’ll be playing traditional golden age tango music, and Rebecca's delicious cake will be served, along with hot drinks.
We also extend a welcome to non-dancers, anybody who would like to come just to watch and enjoy the music, cake and company.

Friday March 15th
Workshops and private lessons at Boyd and Rebecca's
Workshop 1: 11.00am-11.50am Milonguero style with long steps.
Workshop 2: 12.00pm -12.50pm Americanas.
Cost; £10 per class
Private lessons Friday afternoon £50.
Saturday March 16th at St Paul's Parish Centre
Workshop - 1.00pm to 2.30pm Cross system Americanas in close embrace. Cost £20 / £25 including milonga.
Milonga 3.00pm to 6.00pm cost £10.

About Ryszard and Monika
Ryszard and Monika both had a background in dance before their first encounter with Argentine Tango in London in 1995. They have both studied a wide range of dance forms including Contemporary Dance (London Contemporary Dance School and Laban School) Flamenco, Street Dance and Jazz. Before they started dancing tango they were successful in competitive Latin American and Ballroom dancing.
They have had lessons with many great Argentine Tango maestros/as - Ana Maria Schapira, Horacio Godoy, Julio Balmaceda, Dana Frigoli, Pablo Veron, Maria Plazaola and the legendary Geraldine Rojas to mention just a few.
In 2011 they performed in the highly successful and popular theatre production ‘Midnight Tango’ which toured the UK, winning great acclaim and subsequent live cinema screening and DVD release in UK.
They have been regularly invited to perform tango exhibitions in the popular and respected milonga – ‘La Baldosa’ in Buenos Aires, and have also performed at Milonga Parakultural in Salon Canning, and in the Milonga de Los Domingos at El Beso. They are one of the very first Polish tango couples to have the honour of dancing Argentine Tango performances in the most famous tango venues in Buenos Aires.
They have a wealth of experience in learning, dancing and teaching a whole range of different styles of tango.
They have also worked on many dance-based projects, videos and short film productions, combining improvised music with different improvised dance forms. Six of their short films were televised by Polish TV and shown in festivals around the world, winning many prizes and awards.
